What Is It Used For​

This feature is used to normalize data in UXM against Master Data sources, ensuring consistent and consolidated naming across:

  • Locations
  • Applications
  • Systems

Master Data Requirement​

UXM requires a structured Master Data source (MDM) to consolidate and synchronize data.

Data Sources​

Supported Master Data sources include:

  • SQL via Splunk DB Connect
  • REST APIs (e.g., ServiceNow, Cherwell) containing master data
  • CSV files that can be imported into UXM as Master Data

Mapping to UXM Applications​

  • Lookups can be performed using:

    • Application name
    • Process name
    • Vendor-specific data entries

  • UXM retrieves Master Data metrics and updates its internal metrics accordingly

Mapping to Locations​

  • Location data can be mapped using:
    • Active Directory (AD) Site and Location
    • Organizational Unit (OU) information
    • IP address ranges
